Beneath the Skin is the second collection in my 48 Mini Canvases series—a personal challenge to create 48 original oil paintings in 30 days, with every four paintings becoming a color-inspired collection.
This four-piece collection follows a papaya from the outside in. Beginning with whole fruit, each painting gradually moves closer until only the intricate textures and glossy seeds remain. Together, they tell a visual story of curiosity, observation, and discovering beauty beneath the surface.
Each piece was painted in oils using expressive brushstrokes and layered color, embracing the idea that paintings don’t have to be photo-realistic to feel alive.
