From Within l Collection No. 1

From Within is the first collection in my 48 Mini Paintings Challenge—a month-long project created to push myself beyond perfection and embrace the beauty of painting itself.

For years, I chased hyperrealism, striving to make my work look as close to a photograph as possible. While I still admire that style, this collection represents a shift in my artistic journey. Instead of hiding every brushstroke, I chose to celebrate them. Each painting embraces the texture, movement, and imperfections that make oil painting a uniquely human craft.

Rather than creating four unrelated paintings, I wanted this collection to tell a story.

It begins with the whole pomegranate, then reveals what lies beneath its skin, moves closer to explore its intricate textures, and finally ends with an intimate study of the individual seeds. Together, the four paintings invite the viewer to experience the fruit from a new perspective—one canvas at a time.
